This software is just a complement to RT7-Lite.

RT7-Booster could remove more stuff that RT7-Lite could do.

So, you should customize first, your ISO with RT7-Lite and ONLY AFTER you could use RT7-Booster.

==> DO NOT use Booster as a standalone software : in this case the result is not as you expect !!!

REQUIREMENTS =

- Free

- OS : Windows 7 SP1 x32 or x64 (All Languages supported)
- RAM : 20 Mo minimum
- HDD : Need a partition with more than 20 Go free on your harddrive or on a partition
- Minimum Screen Resolution : 1366x76

- All Languages are supported
- Net Framework 3.5
- No Installation needed (BUT keep "D:\RT7-Booster" as directory to avoid various problems with imagex (Don't like "C:\") or 7zip (Don't like paths with spaces))

- RT7-Booster is recommended for optimizing your RT7-Lite ISO
- A good skill in using RT7 Lite is recommended

-> And don't forget, you use it at your own risk. So, in all cases, it's better to test your ISO with Virtualbox (or VMware).

OPTIMIZATION PERFORMANCE GUIDE =

Find in this section many things you could do to achieve the best performance for removing components with RT7-Booster :

- Install RT7-Booster in your fastest HDD or SSD
- Create a RamDisk (Arock Tutorial) and change the working folder in the RamDisk (Available in Booster v4.62.180+)
- Put your ISO source file in a different HDD (not partition on the same disk)
- Disable your AntiVirus

INSTRUCTIONS =

1 - Use RT7-Lite (KEEP ONLY 1 version (Basic, Premium, Ultimate,...) in your ISO)

2 - You could put RT7-Booster anywhere on your HDD (The best choice is to place your it in "D:\RT7-Booster\ISO" folder, but in all cases don't use spaces in paths or in ISO name)

3 - Launch "RT7-Booster.exe" (Try to Change Background Picture or Activate Transparency). Launch it "As Administrator" if it's not working.

4 - MOUNT : your Folder or your ISO by choosing it anywhere on your HDD

5 - Choose your Components, Tweaks, ...

6 - APPLY : your changes, you choose previously

7 - COMMIT and CREATE ISO : this create your new slim ISO, you could find it in "D:\RT7-Booster\ISO"

Hi Rockers,

I'm really happy to announce you that I'm working on a personal project since several weeks. And I want to share it with you because it could interest some people.
The name is RT7-Booster. This is just a complement to RT7 and not a solution that could replace it. So don't expect anything to this side. Thanks.
In fact, this little app can just optimize the remove process for every (I hope one day..) RT7 components, by cleaning files and registry left behind RT7's system removal.
This is only to save some more space on our HDDs.
RT7-Booster is far from finish. And it's a really basic software that don't need installation but it also have some limitations.
For instance, its status is at an early alpha version (0.1a) but I can mount a wim, optimize few components, commit or cleanup changes to the wim and do a new ISO, without errors in Virtualbox or in a real installation.
I've added some screenshots to the post, so you could have a look to what is going to be.
Finally, I add the progress in this post, so for the moment I just continue to add some more components.

I've updated the requirements and instructions; So you could have an idea to how to use it.

I'm doing some last tests to find if there are some bugs. And I release it in one hour, I think.



EDIT : It seems to be OK so i'm gonna upload it.

EDIT 2 : I save, with my lastsession for RT7 (from the thread "Components to Keep") and RT7-BOOSTER (v0.50a) in the ISO = 110 Mo (1.57Go to 1.46Go in a WINDOWS 7 x64 ISO). Just with the few components I added.

EDIT 3 : UPLOAD OK = you could download it to test.

Hi Rockers,

I'm not going to release the v0.70a but the v2.00 Final as soon as I will be sure that it works stable.

This new version (v2.00)  doesn't have buttons to click for each components you need to remove :
- I create an *.exe file for each components to remove. I called them "modules" and they have to be placed in a folder (I don't named it right now). .
- After, you done this, you could launch RT7-Booster and mount wim to click on RT7 Optimizer to run all modules in one click. You don't have to choose the modules you need because if you already removed a component, the corresponding module searches if the component is present. So if it's not the case, it gonna launch the next module. I do this because it's more easy and quickly for me to add new modules.
- I will release the modules in a separate zip file, and I add new ones in this zip file. (I don't named it right now).

I test new components that work great : Windows Disc Image Burner, Windows Display Switch, Windows Sound Recorder, Windows Wordpad. It saves another 10 Mo.

is it possible to remove the entries in the registry that say like "rt 7 lite"? I noticed that after slimming down windows 7 with rt 7 lite, the program leaves a lot of entries in the registry about itself. Also, is it possible to get rid of the some of the themes and rtpilauncher.exe?

I'm going to release v2.00 today but I don't have enough time today to do all the modules I prepared. So I will do them this weekend.

boogerlad : It's possible to remove registry keys, if you could index them, I'll add a new module to remove theses keys. But for me this is not really boring.
