I just wanted to let all my friends here know that I finally asked the missus to marry me on Christmas morning!  So this old man (41) is finally going to settle down even though I already am.  I asked her Father a couple of days before out of respect and he said yes so that morning after all the gifts were unwrapped I made her sit and got down on one knee and gave her a nice ring and asked for her hand and she said "yes".  Wish me luck my friends although I don't think I shall need it for she is the greatest gift I could have ever asked for.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement for this journey that I am finally on.  I am super buzzed about it Gor mate!  You should have seen her face on Christmas morning, it was probably the best moment I have had in a long long time.  I believe we will have a long and happy life together.

And remember mate, its her 'day' so you cant spare any expenses, you need to go all out lol, Its is worth every penny though, its a day that stays with you for the rest of your life

Yep I am definitely going to go for it mate.  no expense will be spared that is for sure.  Even if it puts me in the poor house for a year or more it will be worth it just to see her happy.

Congratulations man, I am extremely happy for you as I did this one year ago myself and Im 41 too. It was a tuff 6 months out of that year mainly cause of all my medical issues, but we got threw it and we are extremely happy together and I believe you will also be extremely happy together. I feel for ya and Happy as hell man way to go, I hope your wedding day is best day of your 2 lives we spent alot, cause we knew both of us would never have another one so go nuts and have a great wedding day and im rambling on sorry I have great memories of my wedding day and all of it I hope and wish you the same Take care both of you and Congratulations  smittie
