Ok dude, for your first question the answer is no,
as for your 2nd question, U can use either norton partition magic(I'd recommend this), or u can use paragon partition manager to partition your hdd without any damage to your files, also u need not format your C: drive
U can install x64 version of windows as you'll get better performance with ur 6GB ram,
U can use vista darker edition and XP SP3
